Work in progress, so far all the shimmer2 arcs are finished and I am now attaching the quarter inside and outer pale grey. Loving the delicate grey contrast as the fabric shimmer is enhanced. Hoping to get more sewn today at work, as tomorrow I have a big catch up on the Splendid Sampler blocks – had no time to spend sewing at home at all with lots of overtime at work. Tuesday I did get to have some fun at the Tea House Theatre‘s #needlepointtuesday, great place to hang out anyway but Tuesdays is knitting and stitching night with fabulous tea and cake!
Finished cog 1 and now onto the large cog. Slow progress but immensely satisfying and great to sew along and chat.
London Lumiere is on at the moment and has transformed the West End, Oxford Circus is now bathed in magical light
and it reminds me of the ever changing rings in the la passacaglia cogs
in progress and almost sewn with some leopard print to go next, really enjoying this project and sewing with others. The monthly LaP Tuesday was great, chatting, advice over what to choose next, pots of delicious tea and laughter – what could be better!
All the fabrics are from Tikki Patchwork in Kew.
At home we have gone down with horrible colds, sore throats and laid a little low. So plans for a new project (liberyt tana lawn PJ’s) have only got to the cutting out stage.
Last week I finally managed to find the fabrics to start my la passacaglia quilt, had one false start with tana lawn and after hitting pintrest decided to go with my heart. After a trip over to Tikki Patchwork, came home with a lovely bundle of mostly cotton & Steel fabrics. Made templates in template plastic for all the fussy cutting, as my practising was with card and couldn’t see properly. Found the book and the pre cut paper templates at Sew & Quilt, great super fast delivery.
Love Patchwork & Quilting magazine have an interesting article about the LaP and also how to pronounce it! Do let me know if you have started or finished a La Passacaglia quilt!
